Layoffs Hit Home

Well, I got laid off.

I couldn't believe it. I wanted this job so much and it took me so long to find it. The boss told me that there was a budgeting error and they had to let me go. I was also given the option to stay for the next two weeks, and if business picks up then I can stay longer. The boss has a second office further out in Virginia and there may be the option for me to move -- yes, move -- out there and join that office....but not now.

So now I have a whopping three months of experience practicing employment-based immigration law. Anyone hiring? :-)

So I decided to stay and fight for my job and I took them up on their offer to stay for the next two weeks. The boss has told me that maybe things will pick up and new business will come in. He says that he has never had to let someone go due to lack of work.

I'm confident things will work out.

This is a minor setback in my journey. Well it is significant...ha ha...don't get me wrong! But I believe that I will get back on track soon....

So the moral of the story is...appreciate your jobs! Many people are unemployed or getting laid off! A job is a precious thing....

Hope your job turns around in the next couple of weeks, I can't immagine how frustrating it must be right now. Post an update when you receive one :) I'll be pulling for ya!

Nice rainbow, btw :) Marriage IS love!

Big fan of your blog. Sorry to hear about your job. Sounds like there's still reason for hope, so hang in there.

I was wondering if you could point me to an old blog post of yours that has your MPT/MEE scores. Thanks!
